This qualification reflects the varied roles of individuals across different industry sectors who apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.
This course gives you the opportunity to gain employment in entry to mid-level job roles across different industry sectors. Upon completing this course, you will gain the skills to work in entry level job roles such as Customer service administrator, Receptionist, Administrative officer etc.
The 12 units of competency in this course will be delivered over a period 52 weeks with 16 weeks holidays, consisting of 2 – 3 days per week of classroom based face-to-face learning (20 hours per week) to ensure full competency.
This is equivalent to 720 hrs of training over a period of one year in 6 terms. Each term consists of 6 weeks.
Following 12 units need to be completed. These include 1 core and 11 electives as per training package requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements into this qualification. NCCS enrolment requirements are following:
- Must be over the age of 18 years
- Must have completed a year 10 high school certificate or have relevant work experience
- IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent as per DIBP requirements.
Students will be provided with access to the following resources required to complete the qualification successfully upon enrolment:
- Assessment booklets
- Student Workbooks and Resources
- PPT Slides
- MS Office
- Unit of Competency.
Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through mentoring and access to re-assessment as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and includes:
- Written questioning and Exercises
- Oral questioning
- Case Study analysis
- Written Reports
- Role Play
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. For more information, see our current policies and procedures at www.nccs.edu.au.
Students who complete this qualification can continue their studies by advancing to BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or any other relevant Certificate IV level qualification.
Those who wish to use the skills gained in the qualification in the work place can find themselves moving into roles such as
- Customer service administrator
- Administrative officer
- Client service assistant
