Course Description

This qualification develops and refines the relevant skills and knowledge to empower students to achieve success in roles involving high level management and leadership in project management context.  Advanced aspects of leadership under project management are covered, such as communication, costing, integration etc. They also apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Upon completing this course, you will gain the skills to work in job roles such as Project manager (generic), Project manager (industry specific), Project leader, Project team leader, Project contract manager,       Project vendor manager etc.

 

Course Structure

The 12 units of competency in this course will be delivered over a period 52 weeks with 16 weeks holidays, consisting of 2 – 3 days per week of classroom based face-to-face learning (20 hours per week) to ensure full competency.

This is equivalent to 720 hrs of training over a period of one year in 6 terms. Each term consists of 6 weeks.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through mentoring and access to re-assessment as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and includes:

 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. Future Pathway

Students who complete this qualification can continue their studies by advancing to BSB61215 – Advanced Diploma of Program Management or any other relevant Advanced Diploma level qualification.
