BSB51415 – Diploma of Project Management

This course develops and refines the relevant skills and knowledge to empower students to achieve success in roles involving high level management and leadership in project management context. Advanced aspects of leadership under project management are covered, such as communication, costing, integration etc.
They also apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.
The 12 units of competency in this course will be delivered over a period of 52 weeks with 16 weeks holidays, consisting of 2 – 3 days per week of classroom based face-to-face learning (20 hours per week) to ensure full competency.
This is equivalent to 720 hrs of training over a period of one year in 6 terms. Each term consists of 6 weeks.

There are no formal entry requirements into this qualification. NCCS enrolment requirements are following:
- Must be over the age of 18 years
- Must have completed a year 12 certificate or Certificate IV in a related field or equivalent or have relevant vocational experience
- IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent as per DHA requirements or Australian qualification equivalent to a minimum of Certificate IV level.
Students will be provided with access to the following resources required to complete the qualification successfully upon enrolment:
- Assessment booklets
- Student Workbooks and Resources
- PPT Slides
- MS Office or other relevant software
- Unit of Competency.
Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through academic support and access to re-assessment as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and may include:
- Written questioning and Exercises
- Oral questioning
- Case Study analysis
- Written Reports
- Role Play
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. For more information, see our current policies and procedures at www.nccs.nsw.edu.au.
Students who complete this qualification can continue their studies by advancing to BSB61215 – Advanced Diploma of Program Management or any other relevant Advanced Diploma level qualification.
Those who wish to use the skills gained in the qualification in the workplace, can find themselves moving into roles such as
- Project manager (generic)
- Project manager (industry specific)
- Project leader
- Project team leader
- Project contract manager
- Project vendor manager.
