BSB61015 – Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

This course reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.
They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.
It reflects the role of individuals who have senior or managerial responsibilities. They may oversee the work of others or have specialised roles where they do not supervise others but provide strategic leadership.
The 12 units of competency in this course will be delivered over a period of 104 weeks with 32 weeks holidays, consisting of 2 – 3 days per week of classroom based face-to-face learning (20 hours per week) to ensure full competency.
This is equivalent to 1440 hrs of training over a period of two years in 12 terms. Each term consists of 6 weeks.

There are no formal entry requirements into this qualification. NCCS enrolment requirements are following:
- Must be over the age of 18 years
- Must have completed a year 12 certificate or Diploma in a related field or equivalent or have relevant vocational experience
- IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent as per DHA requirements or Australian qualification equivalent to a minimum of Diploma level.
Students will be provided with access to the following resources required to complete the qualification successfully upon enrolment:
- Assessment booklets
- Student Workbooks and Resources
- PPT Slides
- MS Office
- Unit of Competency.
Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through academic support and access to re-assessment as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and may include:
- Written questioning and Exercises
- Oral questioning
- Case Study analysis
- Written Reports
- Role Play
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. For more information, see our current policies and procedures at www.nccs.nsw.edu.au.
Students who complete this qualification can continue their studies by advancing to higher education qualifications.
Those who wish to use the skills gained in the qualification in the workplace, can find themselves moving into roles such as
- Area Manager
- Department Manager
- Regional Manager.
