Course Description

This course reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements. They may plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

Course Duration

This qualification is delivered in a Blended Learning approach over 20 hours per week over a period of 52 weeks with 6 terms of study (6 weeks per term) and up to 16 weeks of holiday.

Academic Entry Requirements

NCCS course entry requirements are following:

  • Must be over the age of 18 years
  • Must have completed a year 12 certificate or Certificate IV in a related field or equivalent or have relevant vocational experience
English Language Entry Requirements

All students must be able to provide evidence (completed within the last 2 years) of:

  • English language proficiency of Upper-Intermediate, or
  • IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent, or
  • Successfully passed the English Placement Test at the College, or
  • Australian qualification equivalent to a minimum of Certificate IV level or a substantial component of a course leading towards a Certificate IV or higher

  • Unit of Competency.
Assessment Methods

Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through academic support and access to re-assessment as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and may include:

  • Written questioning and Exercises
  • Oral questioning
  • Project
  • Case Study analysis
  • Written Reports
  • Demonstration
  • Presentation
  • Role Play
  • Portfolio
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Course Credit
  • Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL.
  • Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer.

Future Pathway

Students who complete this qualification can continue their studies by advancing to BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management or any other relevant Advanced Diploma level qualification.

Those who wish to use the skills gained in the qualification in the workplace, can find themselves moving into roles such as

  • Business Development Manager
  • Office Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • Local Government Administration
