Course Description

This course reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.

This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.

Course Duration

This qualification is delivered in a Blended Learning approach over 20 hours per week over a period of 104 weeks, with 12 terms of study (6 weeks per term) and up to 32 weeks of holiday.

Entry Requirements

NCCS course entry requirements are following:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at course commencement
  • Have successfully completed an overseas senior secondary qualification
  • Hold a qualification equivalent to a Diploma or Higher
  • Have a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old), hold an Australian qualification equivalent to a minimum of Certificate IV level (or Successful completion of an Australian Certificate IV qualification or higher), or have successfully passed NCCS's English Placement Test
  • All prospective students must complete a pre-enrolment Course Entry Interview and Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy (LLND) assessment prior to offer acceptance. This evaluation confirms course suitability and helps us identify any individual learning or technical support you may need to succeed

Assessment Methods

Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through academic support and access to re-assessments as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and may include:

  • Written questioning and Exercises
  • Oral questioning
  • Project
  • Case Study analysis
  • Written Reports
  • Demonstration
  • Presentation
  • Role Play
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Course Credit
  • Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL.
  • Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer.

Future Pathway

Students who complete this qualification can continue their studies by advancing to higher education qualifications. Those who wish to use the skills gained in the qualification in workplace, can find themselves moving into roles such as

  • RTO Education Advisor
